ACADEMIC RULES AND POLICIES

Submission of Missing Documents


Admissions are provisional subject to submission of all required documents Deficient documents are to be submitted within two weeks after commencement of classes Otherwise Admissions are liable to be CANCELLED

Deferment of Semester
Students not meeting the eligibility criteria may defer their semester after payment of total fee and submitting request on prescribed form Such students may join the next semester after meeting the eligibility criteria Fee deposited is adjustable

Change of Discipline
Students are allowed to join any other program after

qualifying entry test for the same in next semester


Students are required to purchase new application form for issuance of new enrollment number Admission fee and caution money already deposited by the students will be adjusted All passed common courses will be exempted

Freezing of Semester
Freezing of semester is allowed during 02 weeks of commencement of academic session with fee adjustment Students may freeze their semester during course of studies but 03 weeks before final exam without fee adjustment Written application on prescribed form with valid reason is required. Tuition fee for the semester is to be deposited prior submitting the application. Study to be resumed in following semester. Otherwise Students name would be STRUCK OFF

Credit Transfer Policy


Credit hrs can be transferred only from the institutions and universities recognized by HEC Not allowed in 1.5 years Programme Rs.3000/- per course is to be paid as processing fee Equivalence committee makes final recommendations Not allowed if grade below C+ and CGPA is less then 2.50 as per BU grading system Maximum 50% of total credit hrs of the relevant academic programme of BU is allowed

Course Drop/Withdrawal Policy


Any course can be dropped during 02 weeks after commencement of classes with fee adjustment. The same will not be recorded in the transcript. Course can be withdrawn till the 7th week i.e. one week before the midterm examination. The same will be indicated by letter W on the transcript. After which, Grade F will be awarded. No course can be withdrawn after the specified period Non attendance of any course is not considered as 7 official drop/withdrawal

Academic Session
Two regular semesters of 18 weeks each in one academic year (Spring & Fall)

Summer session of 10 weeks duration for improving the grades Maximum Course Load:
18 Cr Hours in regular semesters 06 to 08 Cr Hours in summer session

Course Repeat Policy


Allowed with grade C+ or less Highest grade will be counted

All attempts are recorded in transcript

False Registration
False registration for courses is not allowed Fine of Rs.5000/- for false registration Fine of Rs.200/- per day for not paying the fee within stipulated time. In case of non-payment of dues, students will not be allowed to appear in the mid - term exams

Class Attendance
Minimum Requirement 75% Below 75% - Grade F Computerized attendance is marked during first 10 minutes of class and it is recorded once only regardless of duration of class (1-3 hours) Students with Grade F are not allowed to appear in the Final Examination Required to repeat course with full fee

Degree Completion Period


Completion period for the respective degree programme is calculated as:

1.5 X duration of specific programme


Examples: 04 Years Programme 02 Years Programme 06 Years (72 months) 03 Years (36 months)

Scholarships
Advance Merit Scholarship

Freshmen, who top their respective Boards are eligible for full tuition fee waiver in the first semester. Continuation of scholarship in subsequent semester requires at least 3.75 GPA Application is to be submitted to the Director Campus

Merit Scholarship

Scholarships

50% concession in tuition fee for all the students scoring GPA 4.0

If there is no student with GPA 4.0 in entire batch, the top scorer with GPA 3.75 or above will be awarded the scholarship with 50% concession If there is no student with GPA 3.75 in entire batch, the top scorer with GPA 3.50 or above will be awarded the scholarship with 40% concession
In case of tie, student with higher %age will be considered In case of double tie, all students will be awarded scholarship 19

Financial Assistance Scholarship

Students having serious financial problems to continue their studies are eligible Valid for entire duration provided CGPA does not fall below 2.5 The awardees should have 75% attendance

Concession %age is decided by the Central Selection Committee Procedure

The awardees are to perform 10 hours job per week as specified by the Director/respective HODs Deserving students may apply through their respective HODs within 02 weeks after commencement of semester Four needy students with minimum 2.0 GPA/CGPA will be considered for Indigent scholarship as recommended by DG Campus

All scholarships and financial assistance can be withdrawn, if the academic progress and conduct of the awardees fall below the satisfactory level
