Simple Present Tense


We use this tense to talk about habits.

Simple Present Tense

The words always, usually, often,

sometimes, or never show how often things happen.


Examples
Dad always cooks the dinner. Mum usually gets up early. Cindy often surfs the Net. Tim sometimes bangs the door.

This tense has only one word.
e.g.

Candy likes flowers.


The flowers smell good.
e.g.

Mimi sings well.

Mimi is good at singing.

We add s or es to the verb when
the subject is he, she or it.

Negative sentences

We add do not or does not to make


the sentences negative. Dont change the verb after do or does.
Mimi likes

singing.
