School Functions
the school is simply that from of community life in which those agencies are concentrated that will be most effective in bringing the child to share the inherited resources of the race, and to use his own powers for social ends.
(John Dewey, 1980)

School functions written by Prof. Dr. S. Nasution in his Sociology of Education : Schools prepare children for a job. Schools provide basic skills. School provides the opportunity to improve luck. Schools provide energy development. School helps break down social problems. School transmit culture. School social human form.
Is a tool to transform the school culture, and other latent functions such as children leave their place, get a mate, and so on.

SCHOOL AS A SOCIAL SYSTEM


School is an organized human society system, consists of values and rules accepted by the community for basic needs.
School system has a number of fractions or parts that have specific goals. - Example: administrative offices, classrooms, support services such as counseling units etc.

Socialization and enculturation through education. Socialization - a continuing process whereby an individual acquires a personal identity and learns the norms, values, behavior, and social skills appropriate to his or her social position.

Enculturation - the process whereby individuals learn their group's culture, through experience, observation, and instruction
