The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear reactor accident in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the U raine, which used to be a part o! the "o#iet Union$ %t is considered to be the worst nuclear power plant disaster in history and the only le#el & instance on the %nternational Nuclear '#ent "cale$

The Chernobyl Power Plant had a hu(e power e-cursion that destroyed the reactor which resulted in a se#ere release o! radioacti#ity into the en#iron)ent$ Two people died in the initial stea) e-plosion, but )ost deaths !ro) the accident were attributed to radiation$
