What is Information system?

An information system can be define technically as a set of interrelated components that collect, process, store, and distribute information to support decision making and control in an organization.

Computer Based Information system It is defined as system based on the database of the organization evolved for the purpose of providing information to the people in the organization. MIS is the system which handles the database, provides computing facilities to the end user and gives a variety of decision making tools to the user of system.
