Question 1

15 minutes Write 5 sentences based on the picture given Write what you see and not what you think or assume. Write simple, compound and complex sentences if possible. e.g Ali is resting under a shady tree. (S) Ali is sitting under a shady tree and eating a delicious burger. (CD) Ali, who is wearing a floral-designed shirt, is sitting under a shady tree and eating a delicious burger. (CX)

You may also construct sentences without using the guide words but they must be related to the picture. Try to jot down the subjects and actions found in the picture. Make sure that the spelling and punctuation are correctly used. Sentences must be neatly written and legible.

Subject verb to be action - complement

A few boys are pitching a tent. A few boy scouts are pitching two big tents under a shady tree. A scout is carrying some firewood. A scout is carrying a bundle of firewood.

A boy is boiling some water. Another boy is boiling some water in a kettle over the fire.

There verbs to be subject- action- complement

There are a few scouts pitching the tents. There is a boy boiling some water in a kettle. There is a scout carrying a bundle of firewood.
