The body is made up bones, blood, nerves and muscles.

Internal Body Organs

Brain
The brain is located in the head, protected by the skull. It is the control center of the body. The brain receives messages from all the parts of the body and replies adequately.

Lungs
Lungs help us breathe. They are located in the chest cavity protected by the rib cage. There are two lungs.

Heart
The heart is between the two lungs. It pumps blood and supplies it to the rest of the body. The heart is approximately the size of ones fist.

Liver
It is the largest gland in the body and lies in the upper right abdomen. Liver stores food and purifies the blood. It also helps in the digestion of food.

Stomach
It lies in the upper abdomen. The stomach helps digest the food.

Small and Large Intestines

The small intestine is a very long tube which lies curled in the lower abdomen. It is surrounded by the large intestine. The small and large intestine help in the digestion process.

Bladder and Kidney

Located in the lower abdomen, the kidney is a bean shaped organ. The kidney purify the blood by removing waster matter from it. The bladder is a muscular organ that stores urine before expelling it from the body.
