Set up on 13 January 1964 with the name as Sekolah Menengah (P) Jalan Ampang It is a government school with 42 staff and 1000 pupils. Officiated by the Education Minister, Tuan Hj Mohamed Yaacob PMK, SMT on 24 September 1973.
