Dr.

Araneta strongly advocated the

industrialization of the country.

As a pioneering industrialist, he launched several
projects that were known for their firsts

Together with his brothers Ramon and Vicente,
he founded Araneta Institute of Agriculture.

He co-founded Feati Institute of Technology,
the first post war airline, and the first flying
school.

He attributed the problems of the nation to the
primitive and archaic agriculture caused by the
attitude of the people who still believed that
agriculture does not require brains, education
and training

Dr. Araneta enunciated the role of AIA as an
instrument of both education and agriculture

He also believed in the fundamentality of
agriculture particularly in underdeveloped
countries like ours.
He warned that progress in the country would
be remote if farmers are not well and fairly paid
for their services.

During his incumbency as Secretary of the
Department of Agriculture and Natural
Resources his department proposed the ten
agricultural policies.

Dr. Araneta engrossed himself in fighting single-
handedly for reforms and policies which he
believed were necessary to gain economic
independence.

He cited free trade that began in 1909, and the
Bell Trade Act that was enforced in 1946 as
stumbling blocks in the road to economic
rehabilitation.
Dr. Araneta stressed the need to achieve
economic democracy in a God-guided society to
strengthen democracy in our lands.

Dr. Salvador Araneta was one of the pillars
of our Philippine Constitution, having
been elected delegate to the Constitutional
convention in 1934 and 1971.

Convention
Dr. Araneta was among the 202 delegates
elected to the convention tasked to draft the
Constitution that had to be approved by the
President of the United States after which, the
same had to be ratified by the Filipino people in
the plebiscite.
He authored and supported proposals which
found their way in the fundamental law.
His greatest disappointment was the defeat of
his proposal pertained to the Filipinization of
the Retail Trade.

Convention

of Malabon was among the 302 delegates elected
to the 1971 Constitutional Convention.

Human Resources and was also a member of

The Beginnings of the Philippine
Constitution Association, Inc (Philconsa)
The approval by the Securities and Exchange
Commission of the incorporation papers on
September 26,1961 marked the official and legal
birth of the Philippine Constitution Association,
Inc.

Dr. Araneta was elected as the first president of
Philconsa.
By nationalism, Dr. Araneta meant it to include
the culture of our race and its traditions should
be preserved, a culture which stresses family life,
decency and purity in our womanhood, love of
parents, respect for elders, a deep sense of moral
order and an afterlife, great hospitality, ans a
simple and unaffected way of life.
A man whose vision is to provide a decent life
for the Filipino people, he became preoccupied
in examining and seeking solutions to our
country's economic problems.
