According to teachers the quantity of food
appropriate, but many students feel that the
quantity is more than required.
In the schools that are non visited, 30% of the
teachers are not aware about the nutritional
value of the food served. But in those schools
who have visited the APF, teachers are aware.
Some teachers dont find the mid day meal
program beneficial for students among the non
visited schools. But most of the teachers who
have visited find it beneficial now.
Most of the teachers monitor the students when the
food is being served.
Some of the teachers who have not visited complain
that the food arrives late sometimes. Whereas this
issue was not observed among those teachers who
have visited.
Teachers who have visited the APF have observed an
increase in number of students liking and eating the
food.
Most of the students eat mid day meal daily.
Khichdi, kheer and pulav, tamatar chatni were
observed as most favorite in the menu.
Most of the parents ask their children to have the food
by APF who have visited.
Most of the teachers ask their students to have the
food.
Some of the schools dont have soaps and towels to
wash hands
In some schools the place where the food is served and
kept was not clean.
Some schools got water from municipality and some
had handpumps but there was no water facility
available. None of school had filtered water.
No proper toilet facility was observed in some schools.
Cleaning process of Rice should be improvised.
More variety should be included in menu.
More of seasonal vegetables should be included
in the menu.
A separate awareness program should be carried
out to increase awareness among the parents as
they are the decision makers for children.
APF should also initiate towards infrastructure
development and facility building programs in
schools having poor infrastructure.
