How to serve red wine by

bottle



Step 1
Prepare correct number of red wine
glasses according to the number of the
guest at the table
Make sure glasses are clean, polished
and not chipped.





Step 2
Use service tray when
serving the guests.

Always hold it by the
stem as possible




Step 3

Approach the table with the red
wine glasses
Place the glasses for each guest
on their right hand side. In
accordance with the clockwise
Service in sequence of lady,
gentleman, and host/hostess at
last in clockwise direction. Starting
from the first lady on the
host/hostess left .





Step 4:
Collect bottle from bartender, ensure
the label is not torn or dirty.
Check if that bottle is the correct
order according to name, vintage, etc.

Step 5

Step right foot forward toward the right
side of the host/hostess, then facing the
host, bend forward slightly with bottle
still in forearm and base in palm.
Show the bottle label to the host/hostess.
with open left palm, all fingers direct at
the label.



Step 6
Say to host/hostess:Excuse me Mr.
/Ms. Sir / Madam, your bottle of:
MASI AMARONE,2006, FROM
VENETO OF ITALY----May I
serve it for you? " state the vintage
(if applicable), company name, then
grape variety or style.

Step 7


Upon guest approval, then start to
open the wine.
Place the bottle on the table with
label facing the guest (Stay on the
right hand side of the guest).
Put the napkin on your left forearm.
Take out the wine opener and open
the blade.

Step 8

Hold the bottle by the neck with left
hand.
Cut the top of the band in a circular
motion. Cut just under the second lip
at the neck of the bottle.

Step 9

Cut all the way around
till the wrapper is easily
pulled off.
Remove foil and close
blade.
Put the foil inside your
pocket.







Step 10

Wipe the lip and top of the bottle
with the napkin.
Put the service napkin on your left
forearm.

Screw down in clockwise direction
gently untill the corkscrew is
into the bottle.



Step 13

Anchor the first stent on the rim of the
bottle.
Cover the anchor lever with left hand, use
right hand to pull the lever up.
Pull the cork upward until the level is
straight.
Anchor the other stent on the rim of the
bottle.
Cover the anchor lever with left hand, use
right hand to pull the lever up.
Pull the cork upward until it is almost out
of the bottle.





Step14

Grasp the cork with your thumb and
forefinger and slowly ease it out of the
bottle. There should be no "pop"
when cork is removed.


Step 15

Unscrew the cork.
Put the wine opener into your
pocket.



Step16

Present the cork to the
guest by placing it on
guest's right hand side.
If the guest does not
need the cork, then
put it into your pocket.








Step 17

Wipe the inner lip of the bottle with
napkin if there is any loose cork,
then place the napkin on your left
fore arm.

Hold the bottle by the bottom, make sure
the label is facing the guest.
Invite the guest for tasting by pour small
amount of wine into the hosts glass.
Say: Mr./Ms. XX, Please have a try!
Remember to serve wine from guests
right hand side.

While the guest is tasting the wine,
stay on guest right hand side and
show the label to the guest.
Make sure the label is visible.

Step 20

After you got approval from the guest, then start to serve the wine to the
rest of the table.
Follow the sequence of placing glass.
Keep wine label facing the guest while pouring the wine.
Bottle should not touch the rim of the glass while pouring.
Turn the bottle after pouring to avoid dropping.







Step 21

Place the bottle of wine on the table
by the host or center of the table.
Keep the label facing guest.
Put the wine service napkin on the
service station.
