HYDROPNEUMATIC VESSELS

SURGE PROTECTION

PUMP CYCLE CONTROL

COMPRESSOR TYPE

BLADDER TYPE
COMPRESSOR VESSELS
Achieve their balance through a
complicated system of controls.

Air receivers, solenoid valves,

measuring probes, control panels and
compressors all must function due to
the air being continuously dissolved
into the water.

The traditional compressor system will

require constant maintenance to
ensure that the pipe and pumps are
properly protected, and in the case of
power failure will require additional
generator facilities to operate the
compressors.

The permanent dissolution of air into

the water will eventually reappear
elsewhere in the SYSTEM.

BLADDER VESSELS
Similar to compressor vessels, use a
compressed volume of gas to give
the required energy to push the liquid
into the system.
The two major differences being that
the calculated precharge is
permanently contained within the
vessel and the liquid is contained
inside a butyl rubber bladder.
With no contact between the
compressed air and the water there is
no dissolution, thus no requirement
for a permanent regulation system.
The objective of this pneumatic
solution cuts operating costs by
simplifying the method of regulation.
The liquid is contained
in a air tight bladder
which operates as a
separation of liquid
and gas inside a
welded steel vessel.
The predetermined
precharge consisting
of either nitrogen or
compressed air is
permanently intact
between the shell of
the vessel and the
bladder.

TUBE VESSEL
In waste water the
bladder is inverted
and connected to the
top of the vessel.
The precharge is
contained inside the
bladder. By allowing
the sewage to be
contained inside the
vessel and only using
vertical configurations
one can control the
problems of
sedimentation.
• A bladder surge vessel has the same
mission with regard to surge control as
the traditional compressor vessel.
• The objective of this pneumatic
solution is to simplify the method of
regulation.
• As in the case of a vessel controlled
by compressors, a pre-charge
pressure is calculated to give the
required elasticity to push the water
into the system following a pump shut
down or power cut.
• The major difference being that the air
is contained within a inverted rubber
bladder. Therefore, as there is no
contact between the compressed air
and the liquid there is no dissolution
and no requirement for a permanent
regulation system including
compressors, etc...
• When it is possible a good
solution is to use external
atmospheric energy and feed
the system with atmospheric
air, using limitless amounts of
free energy. This job is
perfectly achieved by the
A.A.R.A. vessel and this,
without any air bubbles being
introduced into the pipe work.
• As these flat profiles are
frequent in sewage systems,
the design of the device is
adapted to raw water and
effluents. They have been
successfully used for over ten
years from 50 gallons up to
25,000 gallons.
