Rana Plaza building collapsed in April 2013
More than 11 hundred garment workers lost their lives in this disaster
More than 25 hundred workers got injured
Considered to be the deadliest garment factory accident in history
Garments factories in the plaza were manufacturing clothes for many big brands
including
1) Primark
2) Walmart
3) Matalan


Primark plans to pay 6m in compensation to victims

Primark already paid 1.2m in short-term support for all workers or their
families

Primark target to pay 6m to 581 workers who survived, or to the
families of the victims

Additional 1m to communal compensation pot to be shared among all
the 3,600 workers who suffered from the collapse of building

Before Primarks contribution, communal pot contained less than 3m

Primark Contribution For Victims

Deputy Director General of ILO appreciated the donation made by Primark

Primarks payment will encourage other retailers for making more donation

Many companies have not yet made any payment to the victims including
Walmart

Estimated amount require to support the victims is 24 approx.
