Optical Clearing Principle

Based on the light barrier principle (Foreign

light influence is suppressed by means of
modulated IR light source)

Depending on shape and color of the wound
yarn, light is absorbed and reflected, whereas
received light is reverse proportinal to yarn
diameter (absorption)

Several light beams assure an
all-around view

Loepfe YarnMaster Clearers measures diameter deviation able to
detect TWIST variation
RH% at winding will not have any impact in cuts / quality
To work on wet splicing
Detection of different blend in synthetic with same count (most
cases)
Detection of hairiness and removal
Detection of bad splice and splicer maintenance
Detection of rogue bobbin in spinning using LabPack (yarn surface)

Capacitive Clearing Principle
Yarn runs between two capacitor plates

Capacity C changes depending on shape
and dielectric constant of wound material

Evaluation of the resulting capacity usually
by means of high- frequency

Foreign Fiber Detection
Foreign Fiber Detection Principle
Yarn gets illuminated from
various angles (2a, 2b, 2c)

The various light sources are controlled
in such a way, that the receiver (1) considers
the regular yarn as transparent

Once a Foreign Fiber is detected within the yarn,
this balance (light distribution) is disturbed.
Depending on the respective contrast condition a
certain differential signal is generated by the
receiver (1)
