Introduction: The project manager
represents the organization at site. He
should be competent, must have definite
objective, honesty, inspiration and the
capabilities to understand, train, guide the
people working under him. He must
maintain harmony between the
organization and the working contractors.

Making available the requisite materials at appropriate

Planning and delegating responsibilities:
Study site conditions and informing management for
any help
Study and acquire thorough knowledge of contract
conditions, specifications, drawings, discrepancies,
additional works
Preparing time schedules, cash flows, resource
schedules, method statements and foreseeing
problems/ risks
Deploying personnel with clear cut delegation of duties
and responsibilities in writing and establish systems
for smooth working

Monitoring and communicating:
Personal observation of functioning at site
Getting reports from various personnel
Compiling reports, progress reports, bottleneck
reports, assessing slow progress, lesser
productivity, safety reports and other
happenings at site
Communicating the progress to management
and suggest remedial measures where required

bills for payments
