Probably the most visible example of
unintended consequences, is what
happens every time humans try to
change the natural ecology of a
place.

Introduction

Humans are dependent on their environment, as are all other
organisms. Any change in the environment even in distant parts of
the planet affects living things and their environment elsewhere. All
organisms are dependant on each other in many ways.
Destruction of one organism in the environment can lead to the
destruction of other organisms. The human environment includes
the entire earth and may some day include other planets as well.
Technological advances have given humans the ability to exert
great influence over the environment of all living things. For this
reason, it is necessary to have an understanding of ecology in order
to survive
What is Ecology?
The word ecology literally means "Study of the House ." Earth's
ecosystem includes both the living and non-living parts of the
environment.

Ecology is the scientific study of interactions among
organisms and their environment,

Ecology is the scientific study of interactions of organisms with
one another and with the physical and chemical environment.

Ecology is a science that contributes considerably to our
understanding of evolution, including our own evolution as a
species.

Lets watch..........
Importance of Ecology
Studying ecology is very important, because a
simple change in the environment can have
a profound effect on all living things; the
destruction of one species can mean the
death of many others. We cannot continue
to harm our environment due to a poor
understanding of ecology. So the more we
know, the better. For example, humans
continue to destroy wildlife habitats in order
to build cities; we introduce contaminants
such as pesticides and industrial wastes
into the environment; and we deplete
nonrenewable natural resources such as
fossil fuels. These behaviors, if unchanged,
could someday render the Earth
uninhabitable.

Analysis
Ecology is featuring as the key talk in world forums
as the world tries to mitigate the destruction that is already
rife in the ecosystem. Talks and forums are held to push
for the world to embrace ecology, reserve and conserve
the ecosystem.

An understanding of ecology is essential for the
survival of the human species. Our populations are
increasing rapidly, all around the world, and we are in
grave danger of outstripping the earths ability to supply
the resources that we need for our long-term survival.
Thank you.
The more clearly we can focus our attention on
the wonders and realities of the universe about
us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.
