BACKGROUND OF STUDY
Statement of the Problem

Develop a hydrogel from locally available
materials that has a possible use for biomedical
applications, specifically in drug-delivery systems

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
To synthesize a high-strength hydrogel from
indigenous naturally derived materials (cellulose and
rice husk)

To observe the effect of cellulose and silica on the
properties of the hydrogel

To observe the possibility of usage of the hydrogel for
drug delivery applications
