What climate is & what climate- change mean? Climate is the pattern of weather, meaning averages, extremes, timing, spatial distribution of hot & cold cloudy & clear humid & dry drizzles & downpours snowfall, snowpack, & snowmelt zephyrs, blizzards, tornadoes, & typhoons When climate changes, the patterns change. What climate change puts at risk? Climate governs availability of water productivity of farms, forests, & fisheries -prevalence of oppressive heat & humidity -geography of disease -damages from storms, floods, droughts, wildfires property losses from sea-level rise expenditures on engineered environments distribution & abundance of species
What is climate warming? Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global average sea level EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING Good Effect 1. As the temperature increases, the Earth will have a longer growing season in many areas. -In general, there will be less freezing weather, and the increased temperatures and carbon dioxide levels will allow more plant growth. -With more plant growth and a longer growing season, there will be more food for people and livestock. EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING Good Effect 2. The warmer weather also positively affect transportation. -Airplanes, trains, buses and cars will stop having cold- weather-related delays for snow and ice. (Kristen Flint, 2011) EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING Bad Effect 1. Global warming will have dramatic impacts on aquatic life and biodiversity. -To compound the natural detrimental effects on aquatic life and biodiversity, human may further disturb the ecosystems. -For example, by trying to combat the effects of rising sea levels, man may work to maintain the coastline. -In our attempts to protect the coastline habitat, other species will disappear.
EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING Bad Effects 2. Increased temperature will also affect the food supply in many places. -The temperature increases will bring hotter temperatures in the summer, which may cause plants to die. (Kristen Flint, 2011) How climate change brings about global warming? When climate change drastically, the processes on the earth is not going the right way. For example, the water cycle, when there is disruption, some of the processes cannot be carried out and water cannot be formed.
Large scale of deforestation Less moisture in the air It will cause less rain on the earth (climate change) It will cause increase in temperature (global warming)
