Existing Solutions
Presently GPS based handset terminal are available but
have certain drawbacks -
The handset terminal has to be GPS enabled mobile or separate
terminal other than mobile leading to additional investment.
The GPS may not work incase it is not exposed to direct sky. Also
GPS device takes upto 10 minutes during cold start.
The GPS handset terminal has to be GPRS enabled to transmit the
location positional inputs.
High battery consumption and low battery life.
Result Solution does not work as per business expectations.







Enterprise admin will request for the MSISDNs that needs
to be tracked for official purpose with required document
Enterprise will be given user name & password for the
login account where the MSISDNs that needs to be
tracked.
The location tracking server will query HLR for to retrieve
the serving cell ID of a subscribers handset at regular
interval as defined by enterprise.
The Cell ID information retrieved from HLR will be used to
plot the location in Map and corresponding address will be
informed to the enterprise on web interface

Key Features of Solution
Handset agnostics and works on all types of handsets.
Solution works on Cell ID technology and doesnt consume
GPRS/SMS channel.
Employee can be tracked with 10/30/60 minutes interval
Completely web based and no plug in/application to be
downloaded onto PC and works with various WINDOWS OS
Employees can be configured in various sub group and can
be tracked with complete map view.
Past 3 month location of employee/group can be
viewed/downloaded from portal.

Works on all types of handsets and doesnt need any GPS
enabled handsets reducing capex investments.
Solutions works even in low coverage area.
The administrator can do tracking thru web or by dialing
USSD string *988# thru mobile and doesnt require any
client applications on PC/mobile.
Doesnt eat away handset battery while finding location of
employee. Handset just needs to be powered ON.
The whole solution is offered on hosted model with no
capex investment for GIS/MAP etc.
Limitation of Solution
Cell ID based workforce tracking solution has certain
technical limitation. Hence before offering this solution to
any Enterprise customers, following needs to be pre
informed to customer
Time: Tracking intervals are predefined at 10, 30 or 60 mins
Since the solution is based upon cell ID, the accuracy levels will be
in range of 300-500 meters in metro city and up to 3 km in
remote/highways
Tracking will not work in case mobile is switched off or out of
coverage. However last positional update would be available.
Solution will not work in ICR locations (3G & 2G)

Pricing
The pricing for Workforce tracking solution is defined on 2
criteria
Number of Subs that is going to be tracked, &
Tracking interval required by the customer

Sales acquisition process

1 login/circle will be created with few number and the same can
be used by sales team to show demo to customers. VAS
managers to provide details for the MSIDNs to be tracked and
the admin account details.
The same can be accessed via the URL
https://workforce.ideacellular.com user name & password will be
provided once details are received from circles
Once customer is prospected below mentioned steps to be
followed,
Get the SEF form filled with necessary user explicit written consent
from enterprise customer
Provisioning team to validate the necessary info provided in SEF
Send account configuration details to support team
Support team to configure account & numbers in tracking and
confirm.




Key Business Rules
Service will be offered to only Enterprise postpaid subscriber
(COCP/COIP).
This service will be offered only after written consent from ENT
customer/employee in SEF form.
Customer admin will not be given access on portal to
add/delete subscriber to be tracked.
All charging for service will be done on employee MSISDN(B
party).
Full month rent would be charged in first bill for B party.
