An overview of Bengal Textile mills

Bengal Textile mills are one of the largest and oldest textile
mills of Bangladesh. This mill has two part Bengal Textile
mill 1 and Bengal Textile mill 2

HRD of Bengal Textile mill

Administrative activities associated with human resources
planning, recruitment, selection, orientation, training, appraisal,
motivation, remuneration, etc. HRM aims at developing people
through work.

And Human Resource Division is that division which controls all
the work of HRM. This is one of the major departments for any
kinds of organization. This Division control all the internal &
external activities related with personnel.
There are three types of employee in Bengal textile mill and they
are given as follows:

Permanent.
Daily.
Agreement Basis.

Phases Of The Project Management
Regarding The Bangle Textile Mills

Planning:
Before starting any work every company make a plan for their
activities. Bangle Textile Mills also make a plan for their project. .
Bangle Textile Mills actually produce product (Yarn) for the party
who give them the order of production and also provide finance.
So when the mills get an order to produce and get finance they
make a plan to run their activities for produce the yarn. They try to
utilize their resources to produce yarn by making yarn.

Analysis:
Bangle Textile Mills get various project proposal from different
parties. But it is not possible for them to accept all the project
proposal. So they analysis all the project proposal in perspective of
marketing, technical, financial, economic and ecology. They try to
define the cost and benefit of the proposal.

Selecting:
After analysis the various project proposal Bangle Textile Mills
select the best proposal from the alternatives. Bangle Textile
Mills select the project proposal which require lower cost and
provide higher benefit for them.

Financing:
Bangle Textile Mills collect finance from the party who give
them order for produce yarn. Bangle Textile Mills has no debt
capital or equity capital. Bangle Textile Mills only produce the
yarn in order for the party and the maintain the production by the
finance provided by the party.

Implementation:
Bangle Textile Mills start work for the project or start production
work. They divided the production work in several sector Blow
Room, Carding sector, Drawing sector, Simplex sector,

Ring sector, wending sector, railing sector and by maintain
all the sector reach the goal or produce yarn. hey use modern
technology to produce the yarn and they manage all the
activities by a effective management team and specialist.

Review:
After implementation Bangle Textile Mills review their
project performance, whether it is done in accordance to the
plan or not and how much is already done and how much is
needed to done to reach the destination. Incase of review if
they see any deviation between the expectation and actual
then they take some positive action to remove the deviation
arises in the project.

Production System Of Bangle Textile Mills

Blow Room:
This is the first stage of the production of Yearn .By using air collect
cotton and provides it to the condenser. Cotton comes from India,
Pakistan, China and other of the country. Cotton finishes well within
the condenser and moves it forward. Yearn mixture within the
condenser. If there is any dust thing is exist with the cotton that will
be removed from the cotton. It is a automatic system and it works
automatically one condenser to another condenser. After processing
the cotton it comes out with a shape of lap. The length of a lap can be
5 to 7 feet. Minimum 16 kilo will come within 4-5 minute. It is
directed by using tab. After filtering the cotton the dust thing will go
to the dust room. This dust cotton can be used for further purpose that
means mill can use it to produce normal cotton or can sell it at a
cheaper rate. From the above we can say that the final production of
the first stage (Blow Room) is lap.

Carding Sector
This is the second stage of the production. Through the wave it
produce sliber by using the lap which was produce in the first
stage. Waste thing go to the dust room through the carding
machine and this waste thing grave in the first stage for the further
production. It actually uses to produce 20 con or 10 con thread
production purpose. Here is a sector named as carding and
maintenance where the machines are repair if it becomes defected.
This sector manages the full sector of the carding.

Drawing Sector:
This is the third stage and this stage contains two sector-Back
drawing and Finish drawing. In back drawing 8 sliber is use to
make one sliber that was produce in the second stage. It is
produced by a automatic machine and if any thread is cut down
then the machine automatically stop.

This stage also remove the waste of the thread and using this waste
the mills are produce lower level thread. In finish drawing 8 sliber is
used to produce one sliber that wae produce in the back drawing
sector. From the above we can say that the final product of this stage
is sliber.

Simplex Sector
In this stage we cans are produce or collect from the sliber. From this
con roving are produced. Same number of roving are produced from
the same number of con. Say 10 con=10 roving .In this sector dust or
waste also remove. Here is a special machine name lab former. When
the mill get an order at list 80-100 pounds then they use this machine.

Spinning/Ring Sector
This is the hottest sector in the mill. More hot is needed for the
thread. If the hot is high then the thread will be better. When there is
more hot then the the supervisor use fan and they try to under pass the
hot air from the room.

In this sector there are 56 ring machines. There are 448 roving in
a machine. Here final product is ring cops.

Wending Sector
In this sector the cops collected from the ring is processing within
the wending machine and make con.

Railing Sector
In this sector the railing machine make hangs by using the con. A
machine work by 40 cons. The standard length of the bundle is
1680 kilo. After making the hangs, they make bundle of the thread
according to the hangs. A bell is making by using 40 bundles.
To make the thread more strong need to wash the thread by water.
To wash the thread use lisapol oil, fitcary, blue and it give the
cotton a light color. Here use lisapol oil to take the water in to the
thread. Need to wash the thread at least one and half hour to make
the thread strong. After washing the thread need to dry the thread
by using fan. And now the thread is ready to sell in the market.

They have not any specific marketing division
They are not using up dated technology
They dont have any Human resource division.
This mill have problem with their Project plan
They dont have highly skilled workers.
Sometime they face problem for labor union.
Their production technology very much traditional

RECOMMENDATIONS
Bengal textile mill should introduce up to date technology and
machineries
They should increase the product line.
They should revise their project plan.
Bengal textile mill have to introduce a Human Resource Division.
The salary of the employee and the labor should be paid in time.
Their marketing strategy and policy is not sufficient they have to
introduce more new strategy and policy

Conclusion

From the all discussion we can reach a conclusion that this practical
base assignment is more effective for us and the topic is more related to
our course. From our course we get knowledge theoretical knowledge
about the project management but we also need to acquire the practical
knowledge. And these types of assignment create the opportunity to
acquire the practical base knowledge about the project and the process
of making it successful project. We get knowledge about the project
management of the Bangle Textile Mills. They run a project for
producing Yarn and they try managing it properly to make it a
successful project. Though they have some lacking in past to mange
their project but now they improving now and gaining this sector. After
visiting their mills we get proper and actual knowledge about their
project management and also understand that how can manage a
project to make it successful. This practical knowledge will help us in
future.
