1.- INTRODUCCION
Consideraciones Inciales:
La cantidad de Operaciones que se realizan en los Hospitales Nacionales,
requieren de un ambiente SEPTICO, por lo que El Sistema de Aire
Acondicionado debe contar con las Caractersticas Tcnicas apropiadas para
mantener la presin positiva, la Humedad Relativa, La Temperatura, Filtrado
de Aire de Alta Eficiencia y equipos 100% Aire Exterior. De esta manera se
ha comprobado que se reducir la contaminacin biolgica del Quirfano.

Un reciente estudio realizado en Inglaterra estima que cada ao mueren alrededor de
5000 personas debido a infecciones adquiridas en los hospitales.

Generalmente se asocian al contacto entre los pacientes y el personal, pero existe
evidencia que muchas de las infecciones se transmiten por va area y un mal filtrado
del sistema de aire acondicionado.
En una sala de Operaciones el paciente esta Literalmente Abierto lo cual los expone
a contraer infecciones si es que el aire acondicionado no esta correctamente filtrado,
es decir : llega a la Sala de Operaciones con una Enfermedad A y puede salir de
ella con enfermedades B, C o ms.

Esta es la Razn por la que debemos poner mucho cuidado en el diseo de los
sistemas de aire acondicionado, ya que son Vidas Humanas las que de alguna
manera estn en nuestras manos y ya sea por DESCONOCIMIENTO o
NEGLIGENCIA podemos AFECTARLA irreparablemente.

2.- CLASIFICACION DE LAS AREAS DE CIRUGIA.
3.- RECOMENDACIONES DE DISEO - ASHRAE.
* The temperature and relative humidity set points should be adjustable by
surgical staff. Systems should be capable of maintaining the space
temperature in the lower end of the range (62F) for specialized procedures
such as cardiac surgery. Table 3 lists tolerable temperature ranges; however,
these are not intended to be dynamic control ranges. Special or
supplemental cooling equipment should be considered if this lower
temperature negatively affects energy use for surrounding areas.
* Air pressure should be kept positive with respect to any adjoining rooms by
supplying excess air.
* A differential-pressure-indicating device should be installed to permit air
pressure readings in the rooms. Thorough sealing of all wall, ceiling, and
floor penetrations, and tight-fitting doors are essential to maintaining
readable pressure.
*Humidity and temperature indicators should be located for easy
observation.
* Filter efficiencies should be in accordance with Table 1.
* The entire installation should conform to requirements of NFPA Standard 99.
* Air should be supplied at the ceiling with exhaust/return from at least two
locations near the floor, with consideration given to having at least two high
exhaust/return openings opposite from the low outlets. Endoscopic,
laparoscopic, or thoracoscopic surgery procedures aided by camera, and
robotic or robot-assisted surgery procedures, require heat-producing
equipment in the operating room. Exhaust/return openings located above this
equipment can capture the more buoyant heated air and prevent it from being
reentrained in the ceiling supply airstream. The bottom of low openings should
be at least 3 in. above the floor. Supply diffusers should be unidirectional
(laminar-flow). High-induction ceiling or sidewall diffusers should be avoided

Recordar que la carga trmica sensible es 7,610 btuh.

CONCLUSIONES.
Es nuestra responsabilidad como tcnicos y especialistas consientes de
la importancia que tiene nuestro trabajo sobre la salud de las personas a
quienes damos servicios exigir como mnimo los siguiente en un proyecto
de salas de operaciones.
1.- Que los diseos y recomendaciones se basen en la norma ASHRAE
y que sigan sus recomendaciones.
2.- Que los proyectistas presente el calculo Psicrometrico para
determinar la capacidad de los equipos, que el calculo se realice tanto
por carga trmica como por numero mnimo de renovaciones y se tome
el mayor valor.
3.- Que se utilicen equipos especialmente diseados de FABRICA de
100% de aire exterior, donde todo este contenido, ventilador y sistema
de filtrado.
