video Costumes; Primrose Hill Scene Male figure: Knitwear (light coloured so white, cream, burgundy beanies, scarf) Warm jacket preferably black Navy blue jeans Warm boots (Timberlands because they are an iconic brand amongst our young target audience and we have taken into mind Maslows hierarchy of needs the aspiration part of the theory as our audience will connect with the character and feel as though they have similarities) Weve taken in mind that the weather conditions will not be at their best and it will be quite chilly. But also this gives a reason for the couple to be more intimate and snuggled up together. Female Protagonist Straight hair, light make up Beanie, scarf preferably light neutral colours to represent the female artist as angelic and to reflect how calm and happy she is with her boyfriend which later contrasts with the darker dress sense which shows her ulter ego once her and her boyfriend have broken up. Light skinny jeans Plain jumper covered by a warm jacket or cardigan and hoop earrings to reflect the more urban style which are audience can relate to. Warm boots
Costumes; Bedroom Scene Pyjamas Slippers Vest Hair up We have chosen this because its a more voyeuristic side to the artist that the audience can relate to as well as become more engaged with the artist because their bedroom ands that sort of costumes are familiar to our audience in most cases.
Costumes; Westminster Bridge The main protagonist will be wearing dark colours such as black and navy blue because this is the scene we will be shooting the first chorus of the song which will create the opening meaning of the whole song. These colours connotation a more lifeless, dim side of life and we intend on clothing the main artists with these colours to reflect the lyrics and to create a serious mood. This will also create a sinister atmosphere as these colors will show how the main artist has changed from the romantic flashbacks in the first 30 seconds. Costume; Club Scene The make up will be dark and glamorous with the hair being quite big to collaborate with the glamorous make up. This will contrasts with the main artists emotions as she will not be feeling glamorous. The costume will vary from black leather jeans and a sequin top, to a glamorous midi bodycon dress and heels. This is just to follow the convention of typical clothes our audience would expect a famous artist to wear as well as it is a type of outfit seen being worn to night clubs most of the time. Lighting Through out this video the lighting will vary from scene to scene depending on the mood and atmosphere we are trying to create. In the 30 second opening scene we will be having the flashback. In the flashback the lighting will be very bright as we intend on filming early in the morning at Primrose hill where there is a bit of mist but also the sun rays hitting the camera lens to create a bright, airy as if your in heaven sort of feel. With this we want to reflect the couples happiness and love before the break up as binding and eternal to show how much they mean to each other. Lighting At Westminster Bridge the lighting will be dark as we will be using this time to reflect how the artist feels once she has lost her other half. The dark is a binary opposite of light which we see when the couple are together. With the dark and the use of night we intend on representing the artists darker side of her personality, to show how she has become bitter about the new girl that her ex has left her for. On the contrary even though it is dark in general, the bright artificial lights of the city will clash with the artists feelings. This will help us create the idea that life goes on around the artist, life wont stop because of her misfortune. Lighting In the club scene we will be using artificial lighting for the flickering to create a sense of confusion in the bridge going ohhh, ohhhh, ohhhhh to show that the artist is lost with out her other half and has gone down the wrong path. This lighting in this location also reflects how young adults try to relieve themselves of pain caused by a break up by going to these urban places compared to Primrose hill where everythings natural even though it is in an urban area so it creates conflict between nature vs. packed city life. Props Mobile phones will be used as they are a way of communication so through out the story line when the broken couple are speaking they will be speaking through telephone and not real life because they are avoiding seeing each other but still communicate. In cases such as break ups its also easier to talk to that person through in direct communication such as phones so conversation isnt as awkward as it would be in real life. Mobiles are also a necessity in young adults lives so it will be something our audience is familiar to. Vesa came up with the idea that we use wigs during the restaurant scene with the new girl (the only time the audience get to see her) on the main artist to show an ulter ego that haunts her ex. The bed in the main artists room will be used for the artist to sit on in the bedroom scene when she is explaining how she feels. The bed also represents all the intimate moments they had together.
Make Up The make up will continuously change through out the story line. We will have light make up on both characters to make them look angelic so having light blusher on them, long eyelashes on the female artist and matte foundation on both of them so they blend in with the natural airy background. In more intense scenes such as the club and Westminster bridge scene, Nasrine suggested the artist will have dark make up to bring out her ulter ego, the darker side to her to reflect what she has become since her break up. The hairstyles of the artist will depend on the scene and the atmosphere. In the bedroom scene the artists hair will be up to show that she is in the comfort of her own home and she doesnt want to put effort in as she is too distraught. In the club however she will have big curls to try and discise her hurt through her hard outer layer.
