• EEPC India - the largest Export Promotion
Council in India
• Set up in 1955 under Ministry of Commerce,
Government of India
• Has a membership strength of around 13000
Indian engineering firms from SMEs to large
corporates
• A non commercial and non-profit organisation
• First Council in the country certified as an
ISO:9000 organisation for designing and holding
exhibition abroad.

Functions of EEPC
• Fixes Annual Export Target in line with
Government of India’s Foreign Trade Policy and
decides upon various measures to be
undertaken.
• Acts as an interface between exporters and
various Government of India Bodies like DGFT,
Customs, Central Excise, RBI, EXIM Bank etc
on policy matters related to exports
• Organises various Promotional Activities in India
and Abroad under MDA/MAI scheme of
Government of India

SGEPC
• A Government of India sponsored
organization is working for the promotion
of India’s exports of sports goods and
toys.
• Founded in 1958, SGEPC represents all
the leading manufacturers and exporters
of sports goods and toys in India.
SGEPC’s Objectives
• The one point objective of SGEPC is to
promote exports of sports goods and toys
from India.

Function of SGEPC
• SGEPC provides important information to
the members on market intelligence,
standards & specifications, quality &
design, and on any other issue which may
directly or indirectly affect the industry.

Government: SGEPC is the direct link
between the industry and the Government
whereby it provides feedback on industry’s
requirements to the Indian Government
and also informs Government directives to
the industry.
• Electronics and Computer Software Export
Promotion Council (ESC) is responsible
for the promotion of exports of Electronics,
Computer / Services and ITES.
• It sponsored by the Government of India.
• It is India’s largest Electronics and IT trade
facilitation organization.

 Acts as a link between the Government and its members and
provides a platform for interaction on policy issues.

 Acts as a link between member companies and foreign companies in


the business development process.

 Identifies prospective markets and buyers for specific products and


services offered by members.

 Organizes promotional activities by way of participation in trade fairs


and exhibitions, inviting foreign delegations, carrying on market
surveys through delegations, sales and study teams and similar
activities.

ESC Membership
• ESC has built a strong membership base
of over 2300 manufacturers and exporters
across the country
• ESC’s members together account for
export worth US $ 48.2 billion (2007-08)
and contribute over 16 per cent to
national export earnings.
• The Council is primarily involved in
introducing the Indian gem & jewellery
products to the international market and
promotes their exports.
• It has 6,500 members spread all over the
country.
• Council provides market information to its
members regarding foreign trade inquiries,
trade and tariff regulations, rates of import
duties, and information about jewellery
fairs and exhibitions.

• The Council for Leather Exports (popularly
known as CLE) set up in July 1984, is an
autonomous non-profit company
registered under the Indian Companies
Act, 1956 entrusted with export promotion
activities and development of the Indian
leather industry.
