Blood Donation Program


- to promote and encourage voluntary blood
donation by the citizenry and to instill public
consciousness of the principle that blood donation is a
humanitarian act;
- to provide adequate, safe, affordable and equitable
distribution of supply of blood and blood products;
- to mobilize all sectors of the community to
participate in mechanisms for voluntary and non-profit
collection of blood

treatment of tobacco dependence
refers to a range of techniques
including motivation, advise and
guidance, counseling, telephone and
internet support, and appropriate
pharmaceutical aids all of which aim to
encourage and help tobacco users to
stop using tobacco and to avoid
subsequent relapse.

SENTRONG SIGLA
It aims at promoting availability of
quality health services in health centers
and hospitals and at making these
services accessible to every Filipino.

Doctors To The Barrios (DTTB) Program


The Doctors to the Barrios Program is the
deployment of doctors as Rural Health
Physicians to doctorless municipalities,
usually hard to reach, economically
underdeveloped areas.

Contract Distribution System


Its goal is to ensure that available stocks are
distributed in a timely fashion to health
facilities in proportion to health facilities
actual use of and requirements for the drugs.

Qualifying Examination for Residency Training


To continuously ensure the quality of training and
distribute medical professionals among all the
country's regions consequent to the DOH's
medical human resource development program
benefiting particularly the far flung areas.

Food Fortification
the addition of one or more essential nutrients
to food, whether or not it is normally
contained in the food, for the purpose of
preventing or correcting a demonstrated
deficiency of one or more nutrients in the
population or specific population groups

Healthy City
A Healthy City is one that is continually
creating and improving those physical and
social environments and expanding those
community resources which enable people to
mutually support each other in performing all
functions of life and in developing their
maximum potential (WHO,1994).

PINOY MD PROGRAM

"Gusto kong Maging Doktor"


A Medical Scholarship Grant for Indigenous People,
Local Health Workers, Barangay Health Workers,
Department of Health Employees or their children.
This is a joint program of the Department of Health
(DOH), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO),
and several State Universities and Medical Schools.

National Center for Health Promotion


General Functions:
a. Develops plans, policies, programs, projects and
strategies
b. Provides coordination, technical assistance,
capability building, consultancy and advisory services
c. Advises the Secretary and the Undersecretary of
Health on matters
---pertaining to health promotion, education,
communication and social mobilization.

Health Communication Division


Special functions

a.Formulates policies, standards and guidelines for the


developments of health communications plans,
messages and materials development.
b. Provides training and technical support for health
promotion and establishes close linkage with
institution and agencies in communication research
and information & dissemination through Multi
Media Center of Excellence.

Special functions:

d. Reviews and evaluates all IEC materials developed


by other agencies and organizations that will credit
the Department of Health.
e. Disseminates scientific results such as surveillance
