What is 1CITIZEN ?
1CITIZEN is a special training program
developed by Prestariang Systems
Sdn.Bhd. To foster national unity via
appropriate use of technology. It inspires
Netizen to become critical thinkers that
understand ethical consequences of
online behaviour.

Program objectives
i. To develop a sense of keNegaraan, collaboration,
responsibility and ownership to the communities
during their online digital experiences.
ii. To infuse positive message among youth.
iii. To encourage youth volunteerism and activism.
iv. To integrate a Malaysia-owned GloballyBenchmarked and Standards for Digital Literacy
Certification.

Certification overview
IC CITIZEN Certification is the first certification
program in the world specially developed and
designed to produce digitally literate and responsible
citizens.
This unique yet universal certification program aims to
impact Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) that lays down
rules of acceptable netiquette or behavior that
should be applied when operating digital devices and
using the internet.

Main objective of IC CITIZEN


i. To produce digitally literate and responsible citizens via:
- becoming critical thinkers in analyzing sources of
information and communications.
- understanding ethical consequences of online behavior.
- making ethical online decisions.
ii. To prepare users for a society full of technology without
misusing and abusing it.
iii. To globally promote good behavior and respect when
communicating and collaborating in the digital world.
iv. To ensure equal, secure and reliable access to Digital Media &
Resources.

Modul 1: e-Access
Definition:
e-Access is about understanding the privilege of using electronic information
as well as the eight to having equal, secure and reliable access.
Learning objectives:
-explain what e-Access is
-instill appreciation of some Government-based digital initiatives.
-share information on how and where to access the internet.
-share information on how people with disabilities use technology.
-instill positive attitudes towards the use of technology.

Module 2: e-Literate
Definition:
e-Literate is the ability to use technology and knowing when, when not and how to use
it appropriately. It highlights how online behavior can have major consequences
offline.
Learning objectives :
-provide you information about appropriate and inappropriate ways to disclose
information through the internet.
-help you to understand better on how to distinguish between reliable and unreliable
resources from the internet.
-get you to know how to specify the positive and negative implications of having a
digital footprint.
-provide you guidance on how to distinguish between trustworthiness and
untrustworthiness of digital resources.
-provide better understanding of actions/ activities that can be classified as cyberbullying and its consequences towards the community.

Module 3: e-Rule
Definition:
e-Rule defines as governing communication and technology use
including respect for ownership and authorship.
Learning objectives:
-identify the specific variations of cyber crimes.
-identify the effects of cyber crimes on a particular sector(eg.
The effect of digital piracy on the economy)
-identify an act the importance of having legal rights and
restrictions governing technology use.

Module 4: e-Safety
Definition:
e-Safety is about measures and best practices for Netizens to guard their personal
safety and the security of their networks.
Learning objectives:
-understand the forms of Digital Security Breach
*specify the conditions under which digital security breaches and attacks can
happen.
* identity the effects of various kinds of security breaches and attacks.
-understand types of online protection
* identify various ways to get protection from security breaches and attacks
* explain why it is important to guard your digital safety or security.
-compare and contrast the differences between using shared resources and
dedicated resources.

Module 5: e-Interaction & collaboration


Definition:
e-Interaction & collaboration is an exchange and sharing of information using
digital systems and the importance of having humility, loyalty, and respect for
others when communicating.
Learning objectives:
-introduce concepts related to the various forms of todays digital
communication and collaboration.
-distinguish the intention (for good or bad cause) of utilizing various digital
communication and collaboration tools.
-demonstrate ethical practices when exchanging and sharing information over
networked systems .
-articulate the importance of consequences of online behavior.

Module 6: e-Enterprise
Definition:
e-Enterprise is about business conducted online using any
internet- based application. It is designed to educate on
appropriate online buying behaviors, channels as well as tactics for
making a secure online transaction.

Learning objectives:
-identify methods for determining whether a site is valid.
-identify ways to protect yourself fro credit card fraud.
-identify ways to protect yourself from ID theft.
Identify potential consequences of impulse buying.

Module 7:e-Care
Definition:
e-Care is about physical and psychological well-being in a digital
world.
Learning objectives:
-identify the proper ergonomics for computer related work.
-identify health hazards related to computer usage.
-identify social problems associated with internet and
computing addictions.
-identify ways to recycle and properly dispose of computer
equipment.

Module 8: e-Accountability
Definition:
e-Accountability is about the privileges and responsibilities of all users along
with the ethical behaviors and expectations that come with it. eAccountability also includes credibility and integrity of online content and
critical thinking about what is true / false.
Learning objectives:
-articulate the importance of being accountable when using digital
technology.
-compare and constrast two different AUPs and determine which one is most
fair.
-identify forms of copyright infringement and its effects on various aspects of
life.
- Distinguish between ethical and non-ethical behaviors with respect to
ethical useof digital technology.
