Data configuration tool

It include MSDE2000(Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine)
Release A and XCT software.
It is used for the data configuration management.
LMT software
It is the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) terminal of a NodeB
It is composed of the Operation & Maintenance system, Alarm
Management System, and Trace Viewer.
Software at NodeB side
It includes the NodeB software and data configuration files and is
distributed over boards in the NodeB.
The LMT software installation is prior to the installation of the software
at the NodeB side.

Overview

The NodeB software is a compressed file. Normally, its name is

NodeB.pck.
There is only one data configuration file, that is, NodeBCfg. xml.

Description

Near end O&M

The LMT is connected to the NodeB through the Ethernet port on the NMPT, as the LMT1 and LMT2 .

Far end O&M

The LMT is connected to the NodeB through the M2000 Server and the IP over ATM (IPoA) channel
between the NodeB and the RNC, as the LMT4 , LMT5 , and LMT6.

Remote O&M

The LMT is connected to the NodeB through a Modem, as the LMT3

Internal Use

Querying NodeB Software Version

A NodeB can support two software versions, an active version and

a standby version. The standby version is null for a new NodeB.
Using LST SOFTWARE to get the NodeB software version.
Record the version information and check whether the current
NodeB software version is the one requested

22

Internal Use

Record Local IP Address

23

The default IP address of NMPT Ethernet port of the NodeB for

local maintenance is 17.21.2.15 \ 255.255.0.0

Internal Use

Downloading Data Configuration File

24

Internal Use

Installing RRU Software

If RRUs (Radio Remote Unit) are configured in NodeB, then the

RRU software should be installed after downloading the data
configuration file.
RRU software is included in the NodeB software package.
The RRU software and RRU BOOTROM have already exist under
the active path in the NMPT of the new NodeB.
Its only need to activate both of them to complete the RRU
software installation.

27

Internal Use

Resetting NodeB

To make the data configuration file effect, reset the NodeB using
the MML command RST SYS.
The local IP address in the data configuration file replaces the
default IP address of the NMPT Ethernet port

28

Internal Use

Synchronizing NodeB Software Version

There are two paths in the NMPT file partition, that is the active
path and the standby path.
The path saving the running NodeB software is called the active
path, while that saving the standby NodeB software is called the
standby path. Users can use MML command ACT SOFTWARE to
interchange these two paths.
After installing the software at NodeB side and running the software
for a period (at least 72 hours) to verify its reliability and stability,
then synchronize the software in the active path with that in the
standby path in the file partition of the NMPT. (SYN SOFTWARE)
