ABOUT APEDA
1. Introduction

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products


Export Development Authority (APEDA) came
into being through an Act of Parliament, the
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export
Development Act, 1985 (2 of 1986). The APEDA
Day falls on 13th February.

2. Organisation Setup
APEDA has its head office in New Delhi and has 5 Regional Offices at Mumbai,
Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Guwahati.
APEDA has Virtual Offices in 12 states, where APEDA does not have its direct
presence.

ABOUT MARKETING RESEARCH


Meaning

Marketing research is comprised with two words one is


marketing and second is research.
Marketing is the process of planning and execution the
conception of the product, pricing, promotion and place and
distribution of ideas or goods and services to create exchange
that satisfy individual and organizational goals.
Research word also composed into two words Re and Search.
Re means again and again and
search means to examine closely and carefully together they
form a noun describing a carefully systematic study and
investigation in some field facts and principles.

OBJECTIVES OF MARKETING RESEARCH

To understanding marketing culture, business


environment and decision making process and measures
of marketing goals.

2. It help in providing information regarding manufacture,


retailer, supplier of all kinds of services.

INTRODUCTION OF AGRICULTURE IN ODISHA


Odisha is an rural State. Almost 70 per cent population of the State is

dependent on agriculture.
The agriculture sector contributes only about 16 per cent of the Gross
State Domestic Product (GSDP)
The State has about 64.09 lakh hectares of cultivable area out of total
geographical area of 155.711 lakh hectares accounting for 41.16 per cent.
About 65% of the workforce depends on agriculture for employment
/livelihood.
Rice is the main crop of the State. The total rice production in the

State during 2012-2013 is estimated to be 94.29 lakh tons. (H)


The total cultivable land exploited for cropping is about 40% of the total

geographical area and the exploitation is comparatively more in the


coastal districts of Odisha i.e. Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Ganjam,
Jajpur, Jagatasinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri etc
