the teachers in the school)

the personal pronouns.
Examples:
When the pupils wanted to answer the
question (pointing somebody else);
Teacher, teacher, he want do it (the person
that was pointed is a girl)
Another discovery pupils activity book. The
same errors were made. Examples

The father can become it.

Literature Review

If language structures make up the skeleton

of language, then it is vocabulary that
provides the vital organs and the flesh.
(Harmer 1993: 153)

When the pupils are able to use the words, they

can immediately use them because it has
become a new language either in written form
or spoken form (Allen,1983: 108).

Pictures are one of these valuable aids. They

bring images of reality into the unnatural
world of the language classroom. (Hill 1990: 1)
Pictures bring not only images of reality, but
can also function as a fun element in the class.

Has the research been done

before?
Yes it has been done but with different
focus.
By:
Kateina Joklov in her Bachelor Thesis 2009
from Masaryk University.
Her topic for the research is: Using pictures
in teaching vocabulary.
The focus was mainly about vocabulary.

The Objective Of The Research

Explore the use of pictures as

a tool to teach pronouns

The Research Question

Can I use pictures as a tool in
order to teach pronouns?

So What are the ways?

Flashing the pictures.
Matching the pictures with meaning.
Cut and paste the pictures with respective
sentences.

Target Groups
6 of them were chosen
through initial test.
Pupils

Reason of being chosen

Inability to apply the concept.

Never pay any attention.

Intelligent, but too shy.

M.I.A most of the time.

Show interest only when

understand the lesson.

Show interest only when

understand the lesson.

Why this 6 pupils?

Initial test was
administered.

Feedback session
(the pupils were
asked to make
correction).

6 pupils were unable to

do the correction (so
they become chosen
one).

Reason for using observation

notes
To record and make conclusion whether the pupils
participated during the lesson (intervention) by
the teacher.
Why?:
The reason for choosing this method is not just
about to understand the meaning of pronouns by
using pictures but also about fun learning various
ways of using pictures, this is mentioned by Hill,
1990 function as fun element.

conclusion
Was it answered? The research Question?
Can I use pictures as a tool in order to
teach pronouns?
The answer is: Yes, I can use pictures as a
tool in order to teach pronouns because
there are various ways to do so.

Suggestion For Further Action

To ensure validity and reliability of the

research, this method needs to be try out on
other pupils on various schools.
Using this method (pictures) on other topics;
verbs and other descriptive words.
Continue with the plural nouns.
