AGLs are in service today !

Sweden was the first country in


Europe to adopt a 40 mm AGL
system.
AGLs are in service in the navy
amphibious battalions.
One AGL is issued to each ranger
platoon.
AGLs are also used in SFOR and
KFOR mounted on the SISU Pasi
6x6 armored vehicle.

Nammo/Saco/CDC
Nammo/Bofors makes the 40 mm L/70 and 57 mm

L/70 3P rounds. Both are in service in Sweden.


Saco has developed the Striker, and made more
than 25,000 Mk19s.
CDC has made FCSs for Bradley and Abrams.

Programmed in the chamber

through galvanic contacts.


Power is supplied through a
battery.
Mechanical S&A.
Mechanical PD.
If not programmed, it will
function in PD-mode with SD.

OCP/CAI
OCP makes the 35 mm AHEAD round, and has

just developed a 30 mm version.


CAI makes the S413 HEDP-SD round, adopted in
Sweden and Singapore.

Summary
Programmable ammunition is the future !
We will buy an AGL system from one

manufacturer.
Two competitors:
Nammo/Saco/CDC: Striker.
OPC/CAI: Upgraded Mk19.
Deliveries will start in 2003.
Studies for a hand held launchers will be
placed with industries this fall.
