VLAN Overview

Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a division of a local

area network logically rather than physical arrangement of
cables

A VLAN makes it possible to divide a physical LAN into

different broadcast domains logically.

IEEE 802.1Q specifies the VLAN implementation scheme.

Switch Port Types

Port type

Description

TAGGED

A port that can receive frames containing a VLAN

ID. It is often used for connection between
switches.

UNTAGGED

A port that can both identify tagged frames and

untagged frames. There is a native-VLAN for the
received untagged frames.

CAR Profile

The Car profile is used to limit the service bandwidth.

Specification

The system has seven CAR profiles with indexes from 0

to 6

The system will adjust the CAR value you input to a

multiple of 64.

ONT Profile

ONT profile defines the ONT capability in the OLT including

the various UNI ports and the number of GPON ports.

Specification

The MA5600T supports up to 128 ONT profiles.

ONT profiles 116 are the default profiles

ONT Register Mode : Auto-find

DBA Profile

DBA profile defines the T-CONT service type and the

bandwidth limitation.

Specification

The MA5600T supports up to 512 DBA profiles. DBA

profiles 19 are the default profiles

The system adjusts the bandwidth value you input when

you add a DBA profile to a multiple of 64.

For uplink, the main bandwidth is from unicast.

For downlink, the main bandwidth composed of unicast and multicast.
