Configuration depends on which CDU does diversity signal come from. Usually
it is configured as the first case. TRXs Main and Diversity signal come from
different CDU.

Functions of DTRU

Baseband Processing Part:

Processing signaling, coding and decoding, interleaving and deinterleaving, modulation and demodulation;
Supports RF loop test and switchover of the faulty phase-locked loop;
Amplifying output power;

RF Transmitting Part:
Modulates the baseband signals into RF signals and performs upconversion, filtering, and RF hopping;
Amplifies and outputs the RF signals
The transmitting modes: Transmit independency; PBT; Wideband
combination; Transmit diversity

RF Receiving Part:
Demodulates the RF signals into baseband signals and performs RF
hopping
Divides the received RF signals and performs receive diversity
The receiving modes: Receive independency; Receive diversity; Fourway receive diversity

Receive independency mode

each TRX of the DTRU has its own main and diversity routes.

(not used)

Receive diversity mode

1. each main/diversity signal is divided into two

2. sent to the main and diversity ports of each TRX.
There are actually only two external RF cables that carry the main
and diversity signals.

Four-way receive diversity mode

four routes of signals are sent to
one TRX. The four-way receive
diversity achieve more uplink
gain than the main receive
diversity does.
Note: only one TRX in the DTRU
is used

The DDPU performs the following

functions:
1 Provides lightning protection through
the ANT port
2 Detect VSWR alarms in the antenna
system
3 Control the gains for the receive low
noise amplifier
4 Transmits multiple routes of RF
signals from the transmitter to the antenna
5 Receives signals from the antenna,
amplifies and quarters these signals, and
then transmits them to the receiver of the
DTRU

DDPU low noise amplifier and

VSWR parameter.

DCOM: Combining Unit for DTRU

BTS
From
DTRU

To DDPU

DCOM receives two routes of DL signals from DTRU and

combines them into one route. Then, DCOM transmits the
combined signals to DDPU, which sends the signals to the
antenna for transmission.
The precondition for configuring the DCOM is that the wideband
combination function in the DTRU must be used when there is an
additional requirements for the combination of signals.
