Do you the lack of self-control is the reason


behind these problems?

How often do we exercise self-control?

Proverbs 25:28

Like a city whose walls are broken down is a


man who lacks self control.

Admit Your Problem

James 1:14
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away
by his own desires and enticed. (NKJV)

What you like to do, you do.


Admit the fact, and start to look for the solution,
rather than search for excuses for succumbing to
temptation.

Put Your Past Behind You

Philippians 3:13
forgetting those things which are behind and
reaching forward to those things which are
ahead. (NKJV)

Once a failure, always a failure? NOT SO!


Perseverance and determination to succeed will
lead to success

Talk Back To Your Feelings

Titus 2:11,12
For the grace of God that brings salvation has
appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly in the present
age. (NKJV)

Dont let your moods/feelings manipulate you!


Be the master, not the slave, and God will help
you achieve this

Believe You Can Change

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who strengthens
me. (NKJV)

You can do EVERYTHING in Christ!


Temptation is never too great that you cannot bear
(1 Cor 10:13). You can overcome it if you set
your mind to go about doing it

Make Yourself Accountable

Ecclesiastes 4:12
Though one may be overpowered by another,
two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is
not quickly broken. (NKJV)

Sharing your troubles with a brother who can


support and encourage you constantly will be a
great help
Let your brothers/sisters be the pillars of support
around you

Avoid Temptation

1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be deceived. Evil company corrupts god
habits. (NKJV)

Dont give the devil a chance to tempt you!


Avoid people and situations that will tempt you to
lose control and sin
Fill your environment with good habits and filter
out bad company choose your friends wisely!

Depend On Christs Power

Galatians 5:16
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not
fulfill the lust of the flesh. (NKJV)

Walk in the Spirit FIRST, and you will avoid the


lust of the flesh listed in Gal 5:19-21. Its not the
other way around!
Let the power of God assist you in your battle
against sin and to develop your self-control
