Engine Removal Summary

Engine Removal Summary ATR-42-500
Open the RHS and LHS FWD and AFT cowls.
The following connections are to be opened from the LHS of the Engine (starting from the
AFT of the engine):
1. The AFT pair of lower cowl fire loop connectors (remove and tag-Identification is
available but in most cases is worn out on the cowl).
2. The FWD pair of upper cowl fire loop connectors (remove and tag identification).
3. Check the new engine and if it has come with the ACW generator installed then do
not open the connections, otherwise open the ACW Gen connections and change the
Generator.
4. Remove 03 connectors of the ACW Generator which are coming together on the
engine mount.
5. Open the Handling Bleed Valve Connector (HBV).
The following connections are to be opened from the RHS of the Engine (starting from the
AFT of the engine):
1. The Engine Connections (05 on AFT Upper part of the engine-Tag for identification).
2. The ACW harness main connector which is installed on the engine fire wall towards
the FWD side.
3. The Lower cowl engine fire loop connectors AFT Pair (tag for identification).
4. The upper cowl engine fire loop connectors
5. The DC starter generator connections.
6. The PVM connections.
Make sure that while removing the PVM the targets /sensors for Np are not damaged.

LHS

The following connections are to be opened from the LHS of the Engine (starting from
the AFT of the engine):
1. The AFT pair of lower cowl fire loop connectors (remove and tag-Identification is
available but in most cases is worn out on the cowl).
2. The FWD pair of upper cowl fire loop connectors (remove and tag identification).
3. Check the new engine and if it has come with the ACW generator installed then
do not open the connections, otherwise open the ACW Gen connections and
change the Generator.
4. Remove 03 connectors of the ACW Generator which are coming together on the
engine mount.
5. Open the Handling Bleed Valve Connector (HBV).
