THE RUSSIAN

REVOLUTION
By Taven Dvojack

Before The Revolution

Russia was the only remaining

autocracy that was truly as it
said in Europe
Nicholas II had become what
would soon be the last Russian
Tzar in 1884
Believed

he was greatest ruler

Russia was to have, and was
appointed by God himself.

The Groups of Russia

Like many other countries, Russia was

also divided into different groups, 2
specific ones

The Rich and the Poor were the main 2 groups

The poor, who were nicknamed serfs,

would have do work and work just to
have a place to sleep, have anything.

Often they would go out and work for

landlords who laid down a specific set of rules.
If not followed they would be beaten

World War 1 Effects Home

In 1914, along with many European countries,

Russian entered World War 1.
Unlike many of the other countries, Russia did
poorly.
Millions of soldiers were kill, and millions were
brought into the war.
Many would suffer food shortages, for Russia had no
fast way to get anything to the front lines. Due to
being non-industrialized, Russia still had to resort to
olden way.
Many soldiers did not have enough of anything to
defend themselves, including clothes, shoes, or even
weapons with ammo in them.

World War 1 Effects Home

The Tzar, Nicholas II would ignore all

signs that people were unhappy with his
actions.

For this he was seen as a weak and remote.

Many at this point thought he was unfit to be
Russias Tzar
He couldn't see when changes were needed
In order to get things in order, many Soviets

would begin to appear on the scene.

Instead of returning home to deal with

issues, Nicholas would stay at the front
lines, demanding that they give no

Bloody Sunday

In 1905, after a year long battle with Japan in

what was known as the Russo-Japanese war;
Russia lost, horribly.

Because of this loss many citizens of Russia were

outraged

Due to being outraged, on January 22nd nearly

100 thousand people marched on the Winter
Palace and ask for reforms

The outbreak became too crazy, and Palace troops

were told to shoot people in the crowd. This is became
known as Bloody Sunday
After this even more outbreak began to occur, increaseing

from 100 annually to nearly 150 annually

The End of The Tzars

In March of 1917, The Tzar Nicholas II

abdicated his power

Shortly after a temporary government is

formed.

In July of 1918 the Tzar and each member

of his family are executed.

With the occurrence of this event, the last

Russian Tzar had been killed.

Lenin Returns

In 1917 Vladimir Lenin would push the

weak government that took over after the
Tzar and his family were killed, and
introduce Communism to Russia
By the time 1922 strolled around Lenin
has managed to get the country back on
its feet and would rename it to be called
the Soviet Union.

This was also the new name for the territories

that were owned by Russia, and connected in
some way.
The joined countries were Russia, Belarus,

Why?

Lenin wanted a Communistic government,

and with this type of government all fairness
and equality will be brought to all Russians.

By this he means the rich would give land to the

poor, and make things equal there.
He would also try to employ most of the
unemployed people in Russia

Lenin constantly promised the people this

quote.. Peace, Land, and Bread.

Through all these Lenin was able to successfully

untie the workers into the Revolutions and drive
the government away.

Red and White

Lenin wanted total control, and didnt

want any others trying to take over the
government., and so a Civil war broke
out.

The War was between Lenins Bolsheviks

(Reds) and the Mensheviks (White/Rebels).

Lenin went on to lead the revolution

based upon the writing of Karl Marx
Lenin would eventually sign a treaty
named Brest-Litvosk, and this treaty
would get Russia out of the war.

Red and White

After a 3 year long civil war, the reds win.

The reds win with little to no outside support
The whites lose with much outside support
from many of the allied powers of World War 1

After the war ended, things began to

return to normal; however, Lenin passed.
In January 1924 Lenin had died, and
believed that Leon Trotsky (vice to Lenin)
should replace him.

Replacing Lenin

Although Trotsky was a much better

replacement for the country, he wanted
to focus on agriculture, and the country
didnt need that
Stalin wanted to focus on
industrialization, and the country needed
this, so Stalin killed Trotsky and took
control of the goverment
