How to troubleshoot after Rehoming activity

A. Background
Reason:
1. We want rehome 50 site 3G at Sanggau area from RNC Pontianak to new RNC
Sanggau due to capacity RNC Pontianak already overload.
2. RTN is the main backbone for carrying traffic RNC Sanggau IUPS , IUCS, IUR and
OAM also IUB, Abis , and GB with total capacity 680 Mbps.
below its the topology of RTN link and the configuration

B. Recomendation
Based on technical experience if we use RTN as a Link Backbone for carrying IUPS
traffic we cant using LAG configuration because this configuration cant make
balance traffic on each member of LAG. So Before rehoming activity we must do an
activity below
1. We must change configuration from LAG became PLA (min RTN NE software
version is V100R003C03SPC201)
2. Divide became 2 PLA group and make details traffic which carried on each
group of PLA
Group 1 = 2x183 Mbps = 366 Mbps
Group 2 = 2x 157 Mbps = 314 Mbps

C. Problem after rehoming Activity


Rehoming activity done successfully but have problem 3G PDP SR SGSN
Pontianak(S1401) decrease due to RAB Assignment failure/ transport failure.

we check transmission side at RTN Backbone
1. We check link utilization using RMON on peak/busy hour because have suspect
link congestion du to high traffic of IUPS

* After we check there is no link congestion based on RMON history

2. We check history alarm all backbone link
After we check we found one channel link have intermittent on ODU (suspect
frequency interference)

3. We check link utilization using RMON for intermittent link

* When link normal the utilization is around 50 65 % but when link have
intermittent the link utilization became 98 100 %

E. Troubleshooting
1. Change the interference frequency channel with clean frequency. Search using
web lct or optix navigator for clean frequency.
2. If get clean frequency please change directly the interference frequency and
monitor few days for performance link
3. If not get clean frequency please change ODU sub band until get
clean
frequency (for recommendation ODU sub band we can get from TNP team).

F. Suggestions
1. Every activity should have CR (change Request) and must get approval from
Technical Expert and Customer
2. Before and after activity must inform to NOC
3. Always coordination with other related technical department ( core engineer,
wireless engineer and Datacomm engineer)
