1 . 0 INTRODUCTION
i. Its known as swing arm folk
ii. Main component of the rear suspension
of most modern motorcycles
iii. Used to hold the rear axle firmly
while pivoting vertically to allow
the suspension to absorb bumps in the
road
1 . 1 Project Background
i. Existing product combine together
between bracket and swing arm but our
idea is to separate this two parts
ii. We found that the joining between swing
arm & bracket is using welding
method so it can easily damage when
the load are increased
iii.
1 . 2 Problem Statement
i. Based on survey, we successfully
identify that in certain motorcycle
user have a problem with suspension
system which is in swing arm and
absorber. (Market Research)
ii. Referring to that, swing arm will be
bend causes of variable load and
force on absorber where applied by
users. (Design & Analysis)
iii. Normally, motorcycle swing arm is
design by combine with bracket using
spot welding method so the hardness
of the bracket are totally
decreased. (Manufacturing)

2 . 0 PROJECT OBJECTIVE
i. To collect and identify swing arm
bracket data cause from un-alignment
on motorcycle suspension system
ii. To classify design problem on
motorcycle according to the market
search
iii. To get result from analysis ( FEA )
focus on bracket and absorber
iv. To improve motorcycle swing arm
bracket structure related to problem
statement
v. To come out with new model which is
better then existing product
