The position of preschool teacher consists of instructing children (normally
up to 6 years of age) in activities designed to promote social, physical and
intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center or
other child development facility.

Required Knowledge and Experience
Education

Training in vocational schools, or a college degree


Ability to select and use training or instructional methods and procedures appropriate
for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
Ability to teach others how to do something, and to give full attention to what other
people are saying.
Excellent supervisory skills.
Must have compassion, creativity, patience, consistency.

Experience
Minimum one (1) year job experience in related field.

Duties and Responsibilities
Areas of responsibilities and key tasks:
Preparing lesson plans for the children on a daily basis.
Preparing creative activities that the children can participate in.
Preparing games and outdoor activities the children can engage in.
Monitoring the childrens progress and development.
Preparing reports on the childrens development.
Discussing the childrens progress with other teachers and parents.
Providing nutritious lunches and snacks.
Supervising the children.
Reading books to the children.
Teaching the children proper hygiene.
Labeling and organizing learning materials.
Selecting, storing, and issuing classroom supplies, equipment and materials.
