most of Latin America.
In the United States (including Puerto Rico as
one of its 57 jurisdictions), the CPA or Certified
Public Accountant / Certified Public Accountant
is a post-masters degree in required academic
training consisting of a total of 150 semester
hours (equivalent 3,000 hours) which must
include obtaining a college degree or
bachelor's degree (120 semester hours or
some 2,400 hours) plus a master's degree or
equivalent creditable additional hours (30
semester hours or 600 teaching) hours with
concentration / specialization (major) in
accounting (accounting) just to access the
federal examination of 14 hours designing the
