2. Water and
Waste
Management

WATER SUSTAINABILITY
IN THE FUTURE
Water management is the provision and
management of water quality for the present
needs of humans and the ecosystem without
impairing the future generation to do the same.

WHY DO WE NEED IT?

Fisheries
Clean water is critical to the aquatic plants and animals. It is
also important to the fishing industry, sport fishing
enthusiasts, and future generations.

Wildlife Habitats
Our rivers and ocean waters teem with life that
depends on the shoreline, beaches and marshes.
They are critical habitats for hundreds of species of
fish and other aquatic lives. Migratory water birds
use these areas for resting and feeding.

Recreation and Quality of Life

Water is a great playground for us . The scenic
and recreational values of water are the reasons
why people choose to live where they do. Visitors
are drawn to water activities such as swimming,
fishing, boating and picnicking.

Health Concerns
If it is not clean, water may carry diseases.
Since we live, work and play so close to
water, harmful bacteria have to be removed
to make waters safe.

Water Management In
Future City
Bigger and more underground water storages are built
at different areas, capable of holding 10 millions litres.
The underground water storage system helps us to
preserve the optimal quality of life in the city despite
the drastic climate changes.
The aim is to ensure that the city has sufficient
amounts of water even during dry periods.
Reservoirs are interconnected to the city among each
other to ensure the equal distribution of water .
Volume used by each residents will be carefully
monitored, anyone exceeding the present volume will
be automatically fined.
