DOING DUTY

Time to Report for Duty


ALL Duties- AT least 20 mins before it
starts
Level Assembly- 15 mins before starting
If starting at 1010, be there by 0955.

Consortium Assembly- 0715


Exempted from Flag-Raising

National Day, CNY, etc.- Around 0630


Call Technicians day before to check

Before Duty
Set up system and equipment
Check that sound and light are all working
TEST MICS AND LIGHTS

FOR LARGE EVENTS:- CNY, Nat. Day etc.


Set up venue day before event
Get hold of event schedule/Action plan to
assist you

During Duty
Do not make too much noise in CR
Doing work is OK, but dont let teachers
see
1 person must be at the controls at all
times
Make sure that everything goes well
Any major special requests to be
referred to the technicians
If you want to play computer or cards,
we officially disallow that.
If you insist on doing so, if you get caught

After Duty
Make sure that venue is properly locked up
Make sure that the CR equipment is
properly shut down
Return the key to its respective places in
the RC

Taking up duties
There are 3 ways you can take up a
duty
At Friday Meetings
When Exco/Technicians calls you to ask
you
Replying to a duty request on the EMB

Do not accept if a teacher asks you


personally to do a duty
Refer him/her to the RC and the
notebook

Taking up duties
Remember, Taking up a duty
means giving your word
that you can do it.

If anything turns up (ONLY if its


urgent)
1. Find a Replacement
2. Call an Exco to inform
OR
2. Call an Technician to inform

What not to do during duty


Members not on duty are NOT
allowed to enter CR
unless given permission by Technicians/
Exco

No member is allowed up onto the


Audi Catwalk,
unless given permission and
accompanied by one of the Technicians/
Exco
That person is responsible if anything
happens to them while they are up there

Control room access


All Non- Mediatech students may
only enter the control room under
the following conditions:
SLC/ Other ending ceremonies where
they are needed to act as the OTs rep.
Under the permission and the
supervision of the Technicians/ Excos.
Only 1 non-Mediatech student in the
control room at any time.

What not to do during duty


No Food and/or Drinks in the CR at all
times
unless otherwise stated by
Exco/Technicians

No more than 4 people in the CR at


all times
unless otherwise stated by
Exco/Technicians

If there is a problem that you cannot


solve at any time during the event

Non-mediatech members who take
photos during major events may do
so
But Mediatech members have
priority (e.g. setting up equipment in
any area).

Playback of videos for any


event
They may play videos from laptops at
their own risk.
It is not the responsibility of
Mediatech members on duty to
ensure that the videos/laptops are
able to playback.
The preferred medium for playing
videos is DVD.

RC
The Resource Center (situated in the
Staff Room) is the Command Center for
MediaTech
Get Keys, extra Equipment etc. from the
RC
Especially important when drawing out
cameras/tripods

can be found
Where is it? Staff Room 2nd Floor, right at

Where you upload and edit Photos and Videos
Where Mdm Angie Ng can be found

main stairs

CR
Control Room of various venues
Usually situated at the back of the venue
(Auditorium, DC, KKH)
Sometimes just the soundboard (LTs)
Controls the Lights and/or Sound System for that
venue

Control Room is right at the top, door to
enter is outside the top left (from the
stage) door
Main Venue of the school
Seats 560.

Above the Kah Kee Hall
Largest of the Lecture Theaters
Often used as a seating gallery for Kah
Kee Hall (Chinese New Year, National
day, etc)
AV cabinet is at the bottom right hand
corner
Air Con is controlled from a separate
room at the top
Seats 300+

Drama Centre
Near the Staff Room, another block on
its own
Like another Auditorium
Often used for Drama performances or
slightly smaller groups
Has a more extensive light configuration
than the Auditorium
CR at the top, door accessed from inside
the DC itself
Seats 372

Kah Kee Hall
The School Hall
Used for major events such as Chinese
New Year, National day etc.
Also used on a regular basis for other
CCA groups
CR at the back, a room accessed
through the hall.

Where you have your Morning
Assemblies
Also used for events such as Combined
Sports meet.
The CR for the Terraces, also known as
the Bunker, is located at the right hand
side of the terraces
Under the large overhang at that side

The one who will usually help you in the
Control room for weekly Assemblies and other
events
