WHY MANAGE ENERGY

THE SOURCES

In our day to day life, In industries , we use many

energy sources, like coal ,petroleum ,natural gases
,wood and other biomass etc,.
These sources play an important role I n our life.
 For e.g.: we depend heavily upon electricity for a
majority of our work in industries as well as on the
domestic front.
This electricity is produced in the thermal power
plants by burning of some or the other of the above
mentioned fuel sources.
These sources are limited i.e. they are getting
depleted at a rapid rate .
This means that they will get exhausted in the near
future if their usage is not controlled or optimized.

DEMERITS OF FOSSIL FUELS

Burning fossil fuels causes smoke which further
leads to environmental hazards like acid rains ,ozone
depletion, smog formation, soil erosion ,land slides .
Overall it leads to global warming and harms the
environment at large. If not checked now the
existence of humans on this planet may be at
risk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COST Vs EFFICIENCY:
 The industries today look
forward to make profit neglecting
the environmental effects, however
on comparison it is found that the
money they invest in setting up
alternative environmental friendly
sources lead to increase in their
profits.

 E.g. :BURNING 1KG OF

URANIUM PRODUCES ENERGY
EQUIVALENT OF 2000TONS OF
HIGH GRADE FUEL.

 Similarly the investments

involved in utilization of non
conventional sources like solar
energy and wind energy may be
high. But after some period of time
they give better returns in terms of
profit made.
HOW TO MANAGE

ALTERNATIVE SOURCES
 Fossil fuels are getting fast
depleted. Hence we need to look
for alternative sources of energy.

Sources of energy like solar

energy, wind energy, tidal energy
and other such non-conventional
sources need to be looked upon
seriously. ……..

INNOVATIONS
Its high time we started looking
for innovative ways to fulfill our
needs of energy.

For this purpose today we are

using fuel cells,L.P.G,C.N.G etc to
drive our automobiles.

We also use photovoltaic cells

to power our houses .
CREATIVITY
CHANGE IN DESIGN TO
IMPROVE CONSERVATION OF
ENERGY
We need to alter the existing
designs to make efficient usage
of energy.

Earlier cars were block shaped

however now we have cars which
are more aero dynamical in their
designs thus reducing the drag ,
resulting in better mileage.

Use of Economisers and air

preheaters in boilers.
CARBON CREDIT
Another way to manage our energy
usage is by carbon credits and carbon
trading system. This is prevalent norm
of working in the European and
American markets but is little known of
in developing countries like India.
Systems like carbon taxing and carbon
trading will force and encourage
industries to take up energy
management, Thereby reducing
pollution.
This also creates a general awareness
about the environment and incorporates
active participation.
CONCLUSION
“IF OUR CIVILIZATION IS TO SURVIVE WE CANNOT STAY
AWAY FROM ENERGY MANAGEMENT.”
Energy management is the need of the hour. Burning of fossil
fuels lead to environmental pollution.
This pollution is not limited to the environment only it has a
great deal of effect on human life too.
Everything on our planet is interconnected. While nature
supplies us with valuable environment without which we cannot
exist, we all depend on each other’s actions and the way we
treat natural resources

WHERE’S THE WORLD HEADING TODAY???

Today we are going from everything to nothing …..
Its our own fault that today we have to face environmental
crisis, Global warming is one of them. The temperature of the
earth is increasing and a day will come that the whole earth will
be covered by water and no land to survive . This calls for the
need of
“ENERGY MANAGEMENT”
“IT’S ONLY UPTO TIME NOW TO TEST THESE EFFICIENT
EFFORTS & ECONOMIC IDEAS”
