Details of Variation of Data Between Systems

We have mapped the all BOM data from ECC 6.0 to R/3 4.7 but the BOM TEXT item
categories T in ECC 6.0 get maintained as STOCKABLE L in R/3 4.7 due to
limitation in Agile.
Text item categories maintained as Stock item categories in R/3 system.

Impact of Variation on Current System Processing

Currently system behave with Text items as Stockable item due to which we need to
do some changes to process it further.
We can change the MRP type setting as ND so that these Materials will not explode
in Production order.

Pros

Further modifications in Agile not

required.
For these materials, Items will not
Explode in BOM, so no further user
training required.

Cons

If Material are saleable too then we

can not set MRP type as ND
otherwise system will not generates
any demand to buy these materials.

Solution Suggestion

We can continue with BOM components Item category as L Stockable, by doing

some changes in other parameters of BOM item components.
Following parameters we need to change on Status tab of Component Item

Selection of Bulk Material Check box

Remove the Cost relevant setting
Ensure that the Relevant to sale must be active

Pros

System will allow for MRP type as PD

and sales demand can be captured in
system.
Production order back flush will not
consider this material for Goods
Movement.
No changes required in Agile.

Cons

Production order show this material as

bulk, which may affect user
understanding for these materials.
Its required to Train the user while
dealing with these types of materials.

Solution Suggestion

We can change the BOM Item components category as N Non-Stockable.

and sales demand can be captured in
system.
Production order back flush will not
consider this material for Goods
Movement.

Need further working with Agile team

to change the process OR need to
maintain in SAP manually.
Production order Pick Ticket will show
this material which may affect the
user understanding for these
materials.
Its required to Train the user while
dealing with these types of materials.
