CIRCULATION SPACES : STREET SCAPE

Streets exert a significant influence on the campus

experience and character .
Walkways and roads that link all the open spaces
are maintained.
The pedestrian pathways are given equal
importance as the vehicular streets and the design
enhance the pedestrian and vehicular safety.
The need of people with disabilities also
incorporated.

CIRCULATION SPACES:
STREET SCAPE
The linearity of the street is reinforced with vertical
elements such as lighting and street trees that run parallel
to the curb line of the roadway.
Trees of different varieties and forms are planted along the
streets and variation has been keep in mind the scale and
function of the streets.

These are the vertical posts

of lighting.

CIRCULATION SPACES: STREET

SCAPE
Formal tree plantation can be done along streets and
boundaries that strengthen the linear form and legibility of
the spaces.
A buffer should be created between the curb and the side
pedestrian walk. It should contain a row of trees, ground
covers and native plantings with low maintenance

CIRCULATION SPACES: STREET SCAPE

Walkways that intersect with the roadways that are
designed carefully and junctions are highlighted by
plantation or by changing paving material.
The scale of detail and complexity of planting at
intersections, pedestrian entry areas and points of
interest are increased.
The circulation spaces between the buildings are
weather protected.

SERVICES IN LANDSCAPE
Incorporate street trees, rain gardens, bioswales, paving materials and permeable
surfaces, with plants and soils collecting
rain water to reduce flooding and pollution.
Place overhead utilities underground.
Improve soil drainage.
Storm water drainage and rainwater
harvesting are considered in planning.
