Light summary

Light travels in waves

The electromagnectic spectrum is
made up of visible and invisible light
waves.
The color spectrum contains the
seven colors revealed when light
passes through a prism.

The color of an object is determined

by which light was it absorbs and
which it reflects.

Light Absorption, Reflection and Refraction

Reflected light changes direction when

it bounces off a shiny, smooth
surface like water, a mirror, or even
metal.
The angle of reflection is the same as
the angle of incidence
Refracted light is bent as it passes
from one substance into another

Absorbed light is taken in and not

reflected or transmitted
