a difference

vJob design refers to the way tasks are combined to form

complete jobs

vJob design principles results in clear job descriptions, a

motivated workforce and successful completion of tasks

vEnsures that both employer and employee have a shared

understanding of the work to be done

vIt has been developed to face the challenges associated with

employing a large number of people in a wide variety of

capacities.

vA JOB DESIGN THEORY HAS FIVE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS :-

vSKILL VARIETY - People are assigned to a job because they are
perceived to be able to fill its requirements

vTASK IDENTITY - Many tasks, or a reduced number of tasks,
depending on ability, time allotment and other constraints.

vTASK SIGNIFICANCE - Look at how various
functions/components/tasks are carried out to achieve the
mission/mandate.
v
vAUTONOMY - It refers to the degree of control a worker has
over the performance of tasks and assignments
v
vFEEDBACK - Feedback is direct response, positive or negative,
to an activity performed in the interest of the organization, it
is better if it comes directly from the source

vJOB ASSIGNED TO THE WORKER SHOULD MATCH WITH HIS SKILL AND AREA OF
INTEREST

vFIRSTLY THE TASK SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED AND AFTERWARDS IT SHOULD BE
ASSIGNED

vTO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE THE RIGHT JOB TO RIGHT PERSON SHOULD BE
ALLOTED

vJOB ALLOTED SHOULD GIVE SATISFACTION TO THE WORKER, OTHERWISE THE
WORKER WILL NOT TAKE MUCH INTEREST AND HIS PERFORMANCE WILL GO DOWN

vJOB CHOOSING OPPORTUNITY SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE EMPLOYEE

vPROPER FEEDBACK SHOULD BE TAKEN TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM IF ANY

vJOB DESIGN SHOULD LEAD TO HI PERFORMANCE OF THE WORKER
