Before the accident.

On

Monday morning, more than 300 people

were in the factory at that time when the
fire broke out about 6 a.m.

The

gates to the plants were locked.

Suddenly,

the lights inside went out and

the plant got dark.

Cause
Leak

of ammonia gas that keep pressurized

as part of the cooling system in meat process
plants.

The

plant was designed to maximize production and

energy efficiency.

Complicated

interior structure and Narrow

exit, so the workers couldnt get out.

The

door was lock, "For safety reason" they said.

Effect
Fire

spread rapidly, consuming

the building in less than 5 mins.
Explosion
Killed at least 119 people
70 people injured

Prevention

The factory needed to design considering safety

of the worker, not maximize production.

Engineer need to consider more on "Plant

design". Exits needed to meet the
standards.

Worker always need to practice on escaping

emergency situation.
