 United States menempati posisi teratas dalam peraihan medali

terbanyak 4 kali berturut2 dalam 5 periode Olimpiade terakhir.
Negara Asia satu-satunya yang masuk dalam lima besar peraih medali
terbanyak dalam 5 periode Olimpiade terakhir adalah China.
Sekalipun United States menempati 4 posisi teratas dalam peraihan
medali total, namun peraih medali emas terbanyak hingga saat ini
adalah China, yaitu sebesar 51.
Posisi 10 besar didominasi oleh tiga negara besar yaitu United States,
China dan Russia.
Australia hanya satu kali muncul dalam posisi 20 besar, yaitu di posisi
18 pada tahun 2000.
