What is Bearing....?
Bearing is a mechanical
Function of a Bearing
The main function of a ball bearing is to reduce
correct position
Bearing takes up the forces that act on the shaft

Types of Bearing
Taper roller bearing.
Roller bearing.
Ball bearing .
Spherical roller bearing.
Thrust ball bearing.
Cylindrical thrust bearing.
Self-aligning bearing.
Angular contact bearing.
Double row cylindrical roller bearing.
CUP.
Inner Ring Of The Taper Roller Bearing Is Known As
Cone.
The Rolling Element Filling Inside The Cup And Cone
Is Known As Roller . This Is In Cylindrical Shape.
The element which hold cylindrical rollers in
between cup and cone assembly is known as
Cage.

Normalizing
The process is similar to annealing and is carried out to avoid
excessivesoftnessinthematerial.
Thematerialisheatedaboveausteniticphase(1100 C)andthen
cooled in air . This gives relatively faster cooing and hence
enhancedhardnessandlessductility.
Normalizingislessexpensivethanannealing.
In normalization variation in properties of different sections of a
partisachieved.
The selection of heat treatment operations is strongly influenced
bythecarboncontentinthesteel.
Hardening
Hardening is performed to impart strength and hardness to
alloysbyheatinguptoacertaintemperature,dependingonthe
material,andcoolingitrapidly.
Hardeningiscarriedoutbyquenchingasteel,thatiscoolingit
rapidly from a temperature above the transformation
temperature.
Steelisquenchedinwaterorbrineforthemostrapidcooling,
in oil for some alloy steels, and in air for certain higher alloy
steels.
Carburizing
Carburizingisaprocessusedtohardenlowcarbon
steels that normally would not respond to
quenchingandtempering.
Thisisdoneforeconomicalreasons(utilizingless
expensive steel) or design considerations to
provide a tough part with good wear
characteristics.
Tempering
Tempering (formerly called drawing), consists of
reheating a quenched steel to a suitable temperature
below the transformation temperature for an
appropriate time and cooling back to room
temperature.Freshlyquenchedmartensiteishardbut
notductile.
