The Very

Hungry
Caterpillar

In the light of the

moon, a little egg lay on
a leaf. One Sunday
morning, the sun came
up and pop-out of the
egg came a tiny and
very hungry caterpillar.
He started to look for
food.

On Monday, he ate through

one apple. But he was still
hungry. On Tuesday, he ate
through two pears, but he
was still hungry. On
Wednesday, he ate through
three plums, but he was still
hungry. On Thursday, he ate
through four strawberries but
he was still hungry. On
Friday, he ate through five
oranges, but he was still

On Saturday, he ate through

one piece of chocolate cake,
one ice cream cone, one
pickle, one slice of Swiss
cheese, one slice of salami,
one lollipop, one piece of
cherry pie, one sausage, one
cupcake and one slice of
watermelon. That night he
had a stomachache!

The next day was Sunday

once again. The caterpillar
ate through one nice
green leaf. And after that,
he felt much better.

Now he wasnt hungry

anymore and he wasnt a
little caterpillar. He built a
small house, called a
cocoon, around himself. He
stayed there inside for
more than two weeks.
Then he, nibbled a hole in
the cocoon, pushed his
way out, and he was a
beautiful butterfly.

The Thirsty Crow

There was once a thirsty crow.

He wanted to drink water from a
pitcher left on the table on the
porch. However, the mouth of the
pitcher was too small for the crow
to get in; besides, the bird did
not want to get wet. The bottom
of the pitcher was deep and the
water was shallow. The crow
could not reach the water though
he extended his head and beak
inside the pitcher while perched
upon the pitchers mouth.

He raised his head up and

looked around, when
something caught his eye and
gave him an idea. He flew
down to the ground and
began picking up pebbles. He
dropped them one at a time
into the pitcher. Slowly, the
water inside the pitcher rose.
Afterwards, the crow drank
one sip at a time until
satisfied.
