Safety
Designed with safety in mind, UEE quick-connect
fittings meet the very strict requirements of CSA
standard CAN/CSA-M421, all UEE couplers have:
Conductor Arrangement
Since the ground contacts make first and break last,
there is always a path to ground to clear fault
currents.
Since the ground-check contacts make last and
break first, the ground-check monitoring system
disconnects power at the first indication that a quickconnector fitting is being removed.
When used with a ground-check monitoring system,
the phase conductors are never energized when the
quick-connect fittings are disconnected.
Conducting Parts
All major electrical conductors are manufactured out
of 99.9% pure copper or high-quality copper alloy
(brass).
Stepped Design
Male, pin-type conductors have stepped profiles to
ease insertion into female, socket-type conductors.
Non-collet conductors (standard 8 kV product line)
utilize brass set-screws to eliminate non-ideal
thermal effects and they also have fine-pitch threads
to limit loosening.
Collet System
Select UEE couplers utilize our patented collet
phase wire securing system that eliminates setscrews altogether.
Entrance Fittings
UEE entrance fittings provide an entirely waterproof
cable-to-coupler interface that also mechanically
secures the coupler to the cable.
Skid-Mounted Junctions
Medium and high-voltage quick connect systems
can be designed to use skid mounted junction to
connect male terminated cables.
